A Large Grant from the EU
Signicat, the world’s first and largest identity assurance provider, secured SME Instrument Phase 2 funding. The grant of EUR 1.36 million follows the completion of SME Instrument phase 1 from December 2016.
The funding will be used to finalise the development and commercialisation of the IDAaaS (Identity Assurance as a Service) toolbox for use by European financial institutions. The aim is to create a single digital identity market for Europe, one of the European Commission’s priorities for the latter half of the decade.
Signicat’s IDAaaS service will enable financial service providers and other businesses across Europe to verify the identity of a new customer — either an individual or an organisation using electronic identity (eID) and digital verification of paper ID, as well as other technologies including registry lookup, facial recognition, and other innovations.
Nordic Innovators has been indispensable to us in our process of gaining EU funding for our project - IDAaaS. We managed to get SME Phase 1 funding on our own, however, for entering into Phase 2, we quickly realised we needed professional help. Our collaboration with Nordic Innovators has resulted in the fact that we take the IDAaaS technology to next level.
Nordic Innovations always shows huge engagement and their work with us has gone beyond what we expected. Therefore, we highly recommend other companies to collaborate with Nordic Innovators and take advantage of their expertise with EU funding.
