The Danish startup, QDevil was founded in 2016. With a team of less than 10 people, it has rapidly expanded their business working closely with academic and private research centres in the field of quantum computing to design and developing their products.
QDevil's products have been used and thoroughly tested in some of the world’s leading quantum electronics labs. Their initial product was the QFilter, which was developed and tested at Harvard University and University of Copenhagen for over five years.
As QDevil’s products are innovative and disruptive by nature, they contain a high degree of risks for reaching the market. To overcome those barriers, QDevil has reached out to Nordic Innovators for assistance to apply for soft funding in order to mature their technology and prepare their commercialisation and scale-up plan.
Thanks to Nordic Innovators, QDevil has successfully secured a grant from the Danish InnoBooster programme in autumn 2018. QDevil is extremely proud and grateful to Nordic Innovators for having secured these grants, as this support and funding mean that the company can now become even better at accelerating their research in Quantum Computing.
The next step for funding is the EUREKA project, an intergovernmental network that promotes and supports market-oriented international R&D&I project generation. QDevil applied together with an innovative UK company, and their project was successfully approved (total grant €640k). It is currently under contract negotiation and will start Q2 2020.
It is very clear that Nordic Innovators has a thorough knowledge and insight into the various funding programmes. Moreover, the consultants are very professional, easy to work and their guidance allowed us to focus on growing our business.
