A Digital Platform Leads to the “Dream Kitchen”
When most homeowners embark on a kitchen remodel, they often spend endless hours collecting inspiring kitchen photos, visiting kitchen shops etc. However, this does not necessarily help people figure out how their “dream kitchen” looks like and causes more confusion than certainty. On the other hand, kitchen retailers struggle to convert prospective customers into real sales as finding the "dream kitchen" seldom match the budget so their time and resources are often wasted.
Hence, the tough part of finding the right kitchen is learning to narrow down the options and home in on how the dream kitchen should look like. Consequently, FormPlus, which is known for upgrading IKEA’s kitchens by making kitchen cabinet fronts, came up with the idea to create AUTOFronts.
A Smart Drawing Platform
AUTOFronts transforms customer 2D drawings into 3D designs to accurately match customer ideas with potentially thousands of professionally designed solutions. By tracking the complete “kitchen journey” of every sold kitchen front, AUTOFronts will automatically generate an accurate price every time a new customer searches for similar designs. Also, by transferring the 2D drawings into a 3D rendering software, the customers can better visualize how their kitchen will look like with the selected kitchen front design. Lastly, the lead to sales conversion for the kitchen retailers will also most likely increase.
Unlike the current competitors that are reliant on fixed design models in stock which also rarely give the real “end” price, the design database of FormPlus can be searched and matched with their customer drawings by customers themselves. The database increases the efficiency of the internal resources - no more designs are thrown away or time wasted doing them but giving customers the most accurate kitchen design according to their own original idea AND budget.
Funding to Develop the Platform
FormPlus received an InnoBooster grant to further develop AUTOFronts to optimize and stream the lead-to-sales workflow and increase customer's buying experience by providing a transparent, customized and high-quality customer service. By engaging potential customers into the design process, allowing them to provide further information on their own kitchen and have the self-drawing matched with previous offers, the client can easily get a better idea of the what and how much. The new platform is therefore a win-win situation for both retailers and end-users.
